A truck that looked like a gas truck was in front of me this week on I-10 at the
Vinton, La and Tx border & it read "Haulin Liquid Chicken." After googling it a
couple of times it isn't clear to me what these nice folks are haulin'. ...perhaps it is chicken parts/rendered fat or some such for use on pet food.
That makes the most sense to me, although i admit many OTHER things have passed
through my mind.
Anybody else?? DO i even want to know?????
my husband drives a truck for that company and liquid chicken is the rendered down chickens parts or leftovers so to speak. it is used in pet food and other things.so you are correct :)i noticed that on another site someone asked what company it is and that would be "livingston trucking" a very good company to be with,as far as i can tell :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the same truck (or similar) in Baton Rouge and was also curious about it. Thanks for the explanation.
ReplyDeleteIn Kansas today.
ReplyDeleteI GOOGLED IT AS WELL. IT JUST SOUNDS LIKE IT "STANK"

ReplyDeleteI just saw this I40 in Oklahoma!
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago 2 of my daughter's and I saw a similar truck. We actually talked to the driver, said it was Parts , fat and other leftovers as mentioned above. However, he told us it was used to make chicken broth that is sold in stores. None of us have bought store broth since that day.
ReplyDeleteHad a disgusting laugh with my daughter on 1-10 when we passed the "liquid chicken" truck. Wondered wtf is that!@! Googled it saw these comments...thanks for the info. I think i will go hurl.
ReplyDeleteLol. Just passed same company truck in Terrell
ReplyDeleteLol we were behind one of these trucks on I30 in Texarkana. On our way home from Texas. I almost spit up my pig skins when I read it. Had to Google it and got a laugh. I just do not want to be around when they open that big silver tank, especially in the summer. Can not imagine the smell of any liquid animal.
ReplyDeleteLivingston trucking is in Texarkana. Mrs Livingston was one of my nursing instructors.Super nice lady.
DeleteNow I know where chicken nuggets come from
ReplyDeleteSaw same type of truck on I40 in western Oklahoma. Thought of McD chicken nuggets and almost purged on my steering wheel. No more chicken byproducts for me.It
ReplyDeleteWaco Tx.. had the same question about the truck we just passed. Thanks for the answers.
ReplyDeleteI've been to the plant where they deliver that fabulous Liquid Chicken. You cannot imagine the smell. Trust me; you can't. In August or Sept in East Texas/Southwest Ark heat and humidity I promise you it's unlike anything you have ever smelled before.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a bag of low cost dog food, open it up after it's been out in the sun for a while. Take a good deep sniff of it and you MIGHT, just might get a small whif of what it smells like. It's all things not eligible for human consumption. They cook it and grind it; cook it and grind it to make chicken meal that goes into dog food. Hope you aren't eating while reading this.
A Livingston Trucking truck just passed us on I30 in Caddo Calkey, AR, and I said that's either milk or he's hauling "liquid chicken". It was liquid chicken!! Thanks for the explanation back to 2012!!
ReplyDeleteI saw one of these tanker trucks this morning on I30 coming into Little Rock, AR. I thought it was a joke too, so I had to look it up. I can't believe they've been around that long & in my daily 50-mile round trip commute to work & back for the last 19 years, this is my first time seeing one. Thanks for the giggle, Livingston! LOL
ReplyDeleteI hope they only hire SAFE drivers! I wouldn't want to be around one if it lost the load.
ReplyDeleteSaw one on I 220 in Shreveport La today and had to google it. Thanks for the input. Now i know lol
ReplyDeleteI10 outside of lafayetre
ReplyDeleteI-20 outside of Dallas
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have selected this explanation of the truck in front of us. After joking about McD nuggets and guessing eggs and broth, it was good to see some actual explanation from credible sources.
ReplyDeleteI20 near 635N.
Merry CHRISTmas everyone.
Just spotted this truck on i10 headed to Beaumont, TX. My husband and I had to know what liquid chicken was lol. He was right, unfortunately. I can't imagine the smell!

ReplyDeleteI was today years old when I found out there was such a thing as liquid chicken. I was just behind one of those Livingston "Haulin' liquid chicken" trucks and had to know what that was about. I thought maybe chicken broth. Ya learn something new every day!
ReplyDelete69N south of Tulsa headed north. Near McAlester. We had the same conversation as others here. This is hilarious. Scrambled eggs? Slurry? Broth? Hahaha. This has turned into a live blog of Livingston Trucking sightings.. love this.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party, live outside of Houston and work in Houston. I just saw this, too, and my bf found this 😄
